Weekend Plans!?

So, what are you doing for the weekend?

As for paperosity, we are headed to the post office to drop off more orders, and then to get pampered with pedicures. We will be cleaning the office and hope to actually get some scrappin and stampin done also!

The store is just about empty. We are down to a few Primas, stamps and embellishements (mostly the military stuff) and papers. I believe we are going to officially close down on November 15 - midway through the month, and also our 20th wedding anniversary!

San Diego County Fires

I just thought I would share some pictures from the past couple of days at our house.

The first three were my attempt at trying to get the beautiful orange moon Sunday night from my driveway - all I seemed to accomplish was getting what looked like snow - however, it is really ashes from the fire, which at that point was still well over 30 miles away.

You can barely make out the orange moon in the middle of the shot above.

Fast forward to Tuesday evening - wish I had thought about taking pictures through this whole ordeal! We were too busy worrying about possible evacuation and providing friends of ours a place to stay once they were evacuated. Anyway, the shot below is looking at the west sky Tuesday afternoon/evening. You can see the blue sky at the top - that's the way it should all look - and then the smoke layer. You can also see all the dry brush on the hill behind the houses at the end of the culdesac. Hence one of the reasons we were packed and ready to leave at a moment's notice. That same brush starts about 100 feet down a hill out my back door also...

These next two shots are difficult for me. It's remarkable that something so devastating can create something so beautiful. These shots are of the sunset through the smoke out of my backyard Tuesday evening.

We have a fine layer of ash over everything, inside the house and out. We have difficulties breathing because of the lingering smoke. But we have our lives, our family, our possessions, and our home. So many others can't say the same thing... Prayers being lifted up for those who are still evacuated, who have lost everything, and to those who are selflessly risking their lives fighting these fires.

Orders *NOT* shipping.

If you have placed an order with paperosity within the past few days (Saturday-now), please note that your orders have not and will not ship within the next couple of days. We are located in San Diego, CA, and as I'm sure most of you have seen, we have been affected by the horrendous fires in the area. We are fine, we did not evacuate, although the mandatory evacuation lines were literally two blocks from our house. Postal services are not running in our part of the county yet, and as soon as I can get them to a post office that will accept them, your orders will go out! Thank you for your patience!

Overwhelmed

Wow.... that's all I can say. We have been so busy the past few days since we took the store to 40% off that we haven't even really had time to relax. LOL, that's the way it was supposed to be from the beginning - not just now at the end!

Get them while you can. I can't tell you how many times a day I am taking products off the site because they're sold out!

Storewide Clearance Sale - 25% Off

As of this morning, the entire store is 25% off regular prices. We will not be restocking items, so get them while you can - once they're gone, they're gone for good!

Life Gets in the Way

It has been two months to the day since I have updated this blog. Kind of like the store - we haven't been doing much with it either. Which led us to some self-reflection and soul searching.

Although we thoroughly love the idea of having the store and finding new products, working it, etc., we have come to realize that this simply isn't the right time in our lives to proceed on this adventure. It is time for us to concentrate on the things that really matter to us in life. How can I run a stamp and scrapbook store when I haven't done either since April!!! We are working on getting back to the basics.

We will keep the address, the name, the business licenses, etc., and hope to restart the whole process again in the future.

So what does this mean to you the customers? Check out the post above for more details.

Once again, I wish to thank those who have supported us from day one, and the new supporters and friends we have made along the way.

Thank You

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to those of you who have believed in us! We are slowly getting there, it's just taking a little more time than I would like. We really do appreciate you!

Now, NEW STAMPS!!! Check out all the new stamps we just got in from Rusty Pickle! I can't decide if my favorites are the Cap'n Jack's:

or the Island Summer:

I'm anxious to play with both of them!! But tonight I need to go spend time with my hubby - it's his birthday and Courtney backed him a German Chocolate cake from scratch!

At it again

I've been MIA for a while - we went to NoCal for a family reunion/graduation, came home and were busy, and then have had family in town visiting us all week. And when you have someone as adorable as this visiting.....

it's really easy to stay away from the computer and store stuff! This is Steve, myself, and our newest niece Hannah. In this picture she was 3.5 weeks old, but is now 5 weeks. We love having her (and her family!) here with us! It doesn't make me want one of my own - LOL, we're looking forward to being grandparents - IN A FEW YEARS!!

Now on to store stuff - we have some new sei products in the **Coming Soon!** section of the store. It should be in stock by the end of the week. We also have a new Rusty Pickle order on the way - I'll work on getting it online tomorrow.

Also, stay tuned for news on a 4th of July sale!

Good news first - Art Declassified stamps have all been added to the site and are available for purchase. Memory Box and latest Prima orders have shipped... bad news? they won't be in my possession, or up and on the site until Wendesday night, and Thursday morning we leave for my nephew's graduation and won't be home until Sunday night. Sooooooo, if you place orders Thursday - Sunday, they will ship Monday.

Military Roll Call

We received all of our Art Declassified stamps at the store yesterday. Due to prior commitments we were unable to get them into the inventory but will have them all available for ordering later today. I can't wait to play with them myself!

Thanks Joan

Well, I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You. Joan B and I were supposed to be roommates last year at an event, but at the last moment she couldn't go. Even though we haven't met, we've still kept in contact and I'm honored to call her a friend, even though it's only across the miles on the internet.

Along with my thanks to Joan, I need to say that they bagged Primas are spoken for. We still have many other adorable flowers in the store at www.paperosity.com if you're looking - stop by and look around :)

By the way, in case you're wondering, I guess there is a reason my lovable dog's name is "Lucky"- he's curled up on the floor at my feet and has absolutely no idea how upset I was with him just a couple of short days ago.

Trying to stay calm

What do one Rhodesian Ridgeback mix - who, gotta love him, is a Hurricane Katrina rescue -

and 7 bottles of Prima La Femmes

equal? First of all, they equal a very ticked off Karen when I received the call that my daughter had come home and found this -

Second, it equals some cheap Primas in baggies for those that would like some. I still have to split them out, and bag them up, but if you're interested, drop me a note at karen@paperosity.com . I will be bagging up 3 of the black mixes, 3 aqua mixes, and one pink mix and will get them up onto the website within the next day or two.

Finally Finished!

Just wanted to drop a quick note in here that I am finally finished uploading all of the new items we have on order... the latest to be added are a bunch of acrylic and rubber stamps and some papers from Memory Box - we expect them to be in stock on Wednesday.

Here's hoping you had a wonderful weekend and have a great upcoming week!

Ooh la la!!

Oui oui, we have La Femmes! You're probably tired of reading about them by now, I've been talking them up so much, but they are just adorable. A mannequin shaped bottle with mini flowers, some with fine french script on them. I want them all - but the other half of this business won't let me keep them.

These adorable flowers come in five different bottles and color combinations - aqua, pink, black, brown, orange and purple.
