So, what are you doing for the weekend?
As for paperosity, we are headed to the post office to drop off more orders, and then to get pampered with pedicures. We will be cleaning the office and hope to actually get some scrappin and stampin done also!
The store is just about empty. We are down to a few Primas, stamps and embellishements (mostly the military stuff) and papers. I believe we are going to officially close down on November 15 - midway through the month, and also our 20th wedding anniversary!

San Diego County Fires
I just thought I would share some pictures from the past couple of days at our house.
The first three were my attempt at trying to get the beautiful orange moon Sunday night from my driveway - all I seemed to accomplish was getting what looked like snow - however, it is really ashes from the fire, which at that point was still well over 30 miles away.
The first three were my attempt at trying to get the beautiful orange moon Sunday night from my driveway - all I seemed to accomplish was getting what looked like snow - however, it is really ashes from the fire, which at that point was still well over 30 miles away.
You can barely make out the orange moon in the middle of the shot above.
Fast forward to Tuesday evening - wish I had thought about taking pictures through this whole ordeal! We were too busy worrying about possible evacuation and providing friends of ours a place to stay once they were evacuated. Anyway, the shot below is looking at the west sky Tuesday afternoon/evening. You can see the blue sky at the top - that's the way it should all look - and then the smoke layer. You can also see all the dry brush on the hill behind the houses at the end of the culdesac. Hence one of the reasons we were packed and ready to leave at a moment's notice. That same brush starts about 100 feet down a hill out my back door also...
These next two shots are difficult for me. It's remarkable that something so devastating can create something so beautiful. These shots are of the sunset through the smoke out of my backyard Tuesday evening.
We have a fine layer of ash over everything, inside the house and out. We have difficulties breathing because of the lingering smoke. But we have our lives, our family, our possessions, and our home. So many others can't say the same thing... Prayers being lifted up for those who are still evacuated, who have lost everything, and to those who are selflessly risking their lives fighting these fires.
Orders *NOT* shipping.
If you have placed an order with paperosity within the past few days (Saturday-now), please note that your orders have not and will not ship within the next couple of days. We are located in San Diego, CA, and as I'm sure most of you have seen, we have been affected by the horrendous fires in the area. We are fine, we did not evacuate, although the mandatory evacuation lines were literally two blocks from our house. Postal services are not running in our part of the county yet, and as soon as I can get them to a post office that will accept them, your orders will go out! Thank you for your patience!

Overwhelmed
Wow.... that's all I can say. We have been so busy the past few days since we took the store to 40% off that we haven't even really had time to relax. LOL, that's the way it was supposed to be from the beginning - not just now at the end!
Get them while you can. I can't tell you how many times a day I am taking products off the site because they're sold out!

As of this morning, the entire store is 25% off regular prices. We will not be restocking items, so get them while you can - once they're gone, they're gone for good!
Life Gets in the Way
It has been two months to the day since I have updated this blog. Kind of like the store - we haven't been doing much with it either. Which led us to some self-reflection and soul searching.
Although we thoroughly love the idea of having the store and finding new products, working it, etc., we have come to realize that this simply isn't the right time in our lives to proceed on this adventure. It is time for us to concentrate on the things that really matter to us in life. How can I run a stamp and scrapbook store when I haven't done either since April!!! We are working on getting back to the basics.
We will keep the address, the name, the business licenses, etc., and hope to restart the whole process again in the future.
So what does this mean to you the customers? Check out the post above for more details.
Once again, I wish to thank those who have supported us from day one, and the new supporters and friends we have made along the way.

At it again
I've been MIA for a while - we went to NoCal for a family reunion/graduation, came home and were busy, and then have had family in town visiting us all week. And when you have someone as adorable as this visiting.....
it's really easy to stay away from the computer and store stuff! This is Steve, myself, and our newest niece Hannah. In this picture she was 3.5 weeks old, but is now 5 weeks. We love having her (and her family!) here with us! It doesn't make me want one of my own - LOL, we're looking forward to being grandparents - IN A FEW YEARS!!
Now on to store stuff - we have some new sei products in the **Coming Soon!** section of the store. It should be in stock by the end of the week. We also have a new Rusty Pickle order on the way - I'll work on getting it online tomorrow.
Also, stay tuned for news on a 4th of July sale!

Good News and Bad News
Good news first - Art Declassified stamps have all been added to the site and are available for purchase. Memory Box and latest Prima orders have shipped... bad news? they won't be in my possession, or up and on the site until Wendesday night, and Thursday morning we leave for my nephew's graduation and won't be home until Sunday night. Sooooooo, if you place orders Thursday - Sunday, they will ship Monday.

Military Roll Call
We received all of our Art Declassified stamps at the store yesterday. Due to prior commitments we were unable to get them into the inventory but will have them all available for ordering later today. I can't wait to play with them myself!
Thanks Joan
Well, I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You. Joan B and I were supposed to be roommates last year at an event, but at the last moment she couldn't go. Even though we haven't met, we've still kept in contact and I'm honored to call her a friend, even though it's only across the miles on the internet.
Along with my thanks to Joan, I need to say that they bagged Primas are spoken for. We still have many other adorable flowers in the store at www.paperosity.com if you're looking - stop by and look around :)
By the way, in case you're wondering, I guess there is a reason my lovable dog's name is "Lucky"- he's curled up on the floor at my feet and has absolutely no idea how upset I was with him just a couple of short days ago.

Trying to stay calm
What do one Rhodesian Ridgeback mix - who, gotta love him, is a Hurricane Katrina rescue -
and 7 bottles of Prima La Femmes
equal? First of all, they equal a very ticked off Karen when I received the call that my daughter had come home and found this -
Second, it equals some cheap Primas in baggies for those that would like some. I still have to split them out, and bag them up, but if you're interested, drop me a note at karen@paperosity.com . I will be bagging up 3 of the black mixes, 3 aqua mixes, and one pink mix and will get them up onto the website within the next day or two.

Finally Finished!
Just wanted to drop a quick note in here that I am finally finished uploading all of the new items we have on order... the latest to be added are a bunch of acrylic and rubber stamps and some papers from Memory Box - we expect them to be in stock on Wednesday.
Here's hoping you had a wonderful weekend and have a great upcoming week!
Here's hoping you had a wonderful weekend and have a great upcoming week!
Ooh la la!!
Oui oui, we have La Femmes! You're probably tired of reading about them by now, I've been talking them up so much, but they are just adorable. A mannequin shaped bottle with mini flowers, some with fine french script on them. I want them all - but the other half of this business won't let me keep them.
These adorable flowers come in five different bottles and color combinations - aqua, pink, black, brown, orange and purple.
Need more speed!!
LOL, I'm in love - with my new COMPUTER!! I have been so frustrated trying to get the computer working and getting all the new products listed on the site. Friday night we had a family night that even included our oldest - very rare as he is 16, has a license and a car - and we were going to watch a movie... but mom needed to work on the site and since my laptop wasn't working had to go upstairs to work on the desktop. I was frustrated to tears - LOL, must be PMS'ing. So the love of my life decided to take me shopping for laptops yesterday and we are back up and running - FAST!!!
So, without further ado, I have added more to the **COMING SOON!** section of the site. These new blocks, adhesives and EZMounts should be available for purchase Monday night. I am still trying to figure out a way to get my Memory Box items listed. Check back later - for some new items that will be up - I'll post soon!

Tsukineko Inks in the House
Well, we at least got all the inks uploaded and on the site, you can see them here. I still haven't gotten the glue pads, glue pad refills and Fantastix uploaded yet. We received our La Femmes but I won't have them uploaded and ready for sale until tomorrow. And last but not least, we received the rest of our adorable Button Bottles from Rusty Pickle, and they will be up tomorrow also. Please check back in and take a look around. We have new things arriving almost daily at the moment!
Have a great weekend!

If it weren't for bad luck,
how does that saying go? If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all!?!? I haven't had a chance to get everything uploaded to the site because my main computer (which is a laptop) crashed. LOL, follow this story.... I leave for a quick weekend trip three weeks ago, and leave my oldest home alone. We decided it would be a good test for him... anyway, he asked if I would leave my laptop - he has a desktop and it is too difficult to take with him when he goes to friends' houses and they are gaming. Sooooo, my computer and a bunch of teenage boys, alone for the weekend. I come home, computer's not working. "I didn't do anything Mom, I swear." Heard that one before? Eventally I get it running again, but it lasts a few days at most and is down again...that's been my life for the past 3 weeks... up, down, up, down... LOL, down more than up. We "only" have 4 computers in this house, you would think it wouldn't be that big of a deal - but it's *MY* computer!! Long story short, we don't know what's wrong with it, other than we know it is NOT the hard drive... me thinks I am going to be getting a new computer any day now....
So we *did* get the Primas loaded, and also the new military stamps from Art Declassified. I still haven't gotten the inks up, or all the stamps and papers from Memory Box. Nor have I completed my orders yet - I am still trying to pick out more items.... :)
I will continue to work tonight, hope to have the inks up soon!
On a different note, look for the new Prima La Femmes to be in stock soon! I have it on good word that they got a shipment in, and I have a box out for delivery as I type this.
More to follow soon,
Karen

More New Additions
We got most of the new Primas loaded to the website. I will be adding Tsukineko inks tonight, as well as a bunch of new acrylic and rubber stamps, and various papers and cardstocks from Memory Box Co., and unmounted rubber military stamps from Art Declassified. I really don't think we'll be able to get all of it online tonight so keep checking back.
I will be taking a few minutes tonight to work on some 6x6 scrapbook pages for a friend on Splitcoast. Her husband's unit is in Iraq and they had a couple of pilots killed over the weekend. One of them had two small children, and Aubrey is going to be presenting them with tribute albums in memory of their father. I told her I would work on some pages and am looking forward to getting them together for her. Do me a favor, would you? If you see a member of our military, tell them "thanks." You'd be surprised how good it makes them feel, and how rarely they actually hear it.

Reflections and More
I hope you had an eventful and enjoyable holiday weekend. I hope also that you were able to take a moment and reflect on the reason that we have this holiday - in honor of those who have given their lives serving our great country. It's always a little somber around our house on Memorial Day. I won't lie - we enjoy having the day off and do usually BBQ or have friends over - yesterday we went to the San Diego Zoo all day - but we also take time to think about those gave all.... some that we knew personally.
On a different front, I had fun this weekend working on new orders... here's just a few things that are on the way - Tsukineko inks and glue pad; EZMount in two thincknesses - there is a new thin one for stamps such as SU! that are already mounted on foam - you don't have to peel the foam off, just layer it onto the thinner EZMount!; acrylic blocks, sticky strip in 3 widths, new Primas, some alterables and adorable 12x12 shadowboxes. On the horizon - more acrylic stamps, some rubber stamps (including military!) and more papers - 12x12, 6x6, patterned, solid, cards; brads in many colors, chipboard, and ribbons! Phew... I think that about sums it up. I'm working feverishly trying to get things loaded into the *Coming Soon!* section of the store. Look for the first additions to be in place later today!

What do you want to see?
I'm having fun at the moment figuring out what our next orders are going to be.... We've got some new paper lines coming in, some adhesives, gel pens, inks, stamps, embellies, etc., - start looking in the **Coming Soon!** section of paperosity to see what you can expect next!
Here's where you come in. As I am going through tons of catalogs and websites looking for new products, what would YOU like to see? What should we carry next?

Home Sweet Home
Do you ever get to the point that you just want to stay home!? My past three weeks have been something like this - April 28 - SCSM4 with a bunch of rowdy and hilariously fun stampers in Long Beach, CA. Can't wait to do it again! April 3-6 - a 7 hour drive to Prescott, AZ for Steve's college graduation (we're so proud of him!) in the SNOW - yup! outdoor ceremony and it started snowing! - and then another 7 hour drive home. This past weekend - April 11-13 - back to AZ (6 hours) for our best friend's graduation from nursing school and then home. LOL, no trips scheduled now until Father's Day weekend - we have to go to NoCal for my nephew's high school graduation.
I want to thank those of you who have ordered from us for your support. I know that lots of folks are looking and not ordering at this point. We're new, we're going to have to prove ourselves, and we don't have a huge variety of stock on hand yet. However, for those of you who have taken the chance and then spread the word, I will be forever grateful.
We have an order of Primas on the way and will probably be picking and ordering our next big purchases this weekend. Stay tuned for the reveal!

Yippee!! We're Official!
Wow, I feel like we're official now that we have our banner and logo! I'm so excited to finally now feel like we can advertise and try to really go somewhere with this. We also have all of our Memories in Uniform products in and they should be available for purchase starting tomorrow.
We also have a new college graduate in the house! Steve graduated from Embry-Riddle University Saturday - in the SNOW!! Outdoor ceremony - they predicted thunderstorms later in the day - but didn't expect it to snow on us in the morning! I don't think anyone will be forgetting this graduation any time soon.
Look for more product in the coming weeks - more Primas, more MME, and a few new things too!

Banner Time!
Woohoo!! I believe we are getting *very* close to finally getting the banner for the site and the blog. Which means I can finally start advertising! I am desperate to run a banner ad on SCS, but have wanted to wait to really get the word out until after I get the site completely set up. We also have a lot going on in our personal lives.
I am frantically trying to get the Memories in Uniform product added to the site, I am working on a gift for my SIL's new baby that my DH has to take with him this weekend, and I still need to get my shoebox swap, nametag and refreshment goodies made for Saturday when I get to go to SCSM4!! For those who are not regulars on splitcoaststampers.com, SCSM4 is Southern California Stamp Mania No. 4 - an annaul event. I don't know how many it started with back "in the day" but this year there are over 100 participants! I've been looking forward to it for months - just wish I had some time to sit back and relax and better prepare for it!
We have numerous events coming up in the next couple of months that keep us preoccupied also: Steve graduates from Embry Riddle University, our good friend graduates from nursing school, my SIL is having her baby in May, and her son graduates from high school in June. LOL, yup, she's got one on the way out, and one on the way in! Better her than me!

Something near and dear to my heart!
As you may know, Steve is in the Marine Corps and has been for the past 23 years. This coming November will be our 20th wedding anniversary, so I have been around for the long ride. With that being said, military and patriotic things in general are near and dear to my heart.
Soooooooo, coming soon - hopefully within the week - Memories in Uniform! The order's in, just waiting on the merchandise! We will be carrying the complete line of MIU papers and most of their lasercut tags for all branches - LOL, I won't leave you other girls hanging! They also have some adorable *have to have* new rub-ons. Keep checking back, and don't forget to take advantage of our $2.99 shipping!

Grand Opening Special!
We're celebrating - and you're the ones who get the gifts - well, sort of anyway! Our gift to you - until the end of April priority shipping on all orders no matter how big or small - only $2.99!
Well, as of tonight we're officially open a week. It's not the bang that I had hoped but I know that it will come. We haven't been able to advertise yet - I guess we could but I really want to wait until we get the banner and logo on the website so it makes a greater impression on people when they click on the advertisement. Discouraged, but no down.
Have a great weekend everyone - I'm off to do some stamping and scrapping :)

Gotta Start Somewhere, Right?
Well, we're off and crawling... so it seems. I know it will be a slow start until I get some advertising done - but I don't want to advertise - especially on SCS, until I get my banner and logo - which are still being worked on. Once those come in we will get the storefront changed and then go full force. I am also exploring different options for ways to get more merchandise in quicker.

We're live!
Well, now it's just a matter of time! We're live and waiting on our first order. It still pains me that we're starting small, but we have to start somewhere, right? Look for more to be added soon!!!

Almost there!
Well, everything's here and is being organized on the shelves. I have to run a test on the website and then hope to have it open to the public later this weekend - obviously we didn't make it today.
After being out of the country for four years and getting back here to San Diego *after* the allergy season last year, I had forgotten how bad my allergies are. My boss sent me home from work twice this week. I went to urgent care Monday and was supposed to go back today but didn't make it - will probably go tomorrow. The meds they gave me just aren't working, and when I realized I had used my inhaler 4 times before noon today, it hit me that something just isn't right. I finally have an appointment with my primary care doctor next Thursday also.
I have been in a little bit of a bind when it comes to trying to figure out what I want to stock here. I don't personally know, but feel like I do know, a few people that have similar stores on the internet because of our shared interests at Splitcoaststampers. I am trying so hard to make this something of my own - lest anyone think that I am completely mimicking any one of the other stores. Ugh!!! LOL, that is harder than it looks. Everytime I think I have hit on something new, and get all excited about it, ready to share here that I will be adding "such and such" in the near future, I do a little research and find that one of our other SCSers already has it. LOL, I guess that could just mean I have good taste!
This site is growing out of my love for the craft and hobby. As has always been the case with me, I enjoy sharing that love of mine with others. We have talked for years about beginning a business and being our own bosses - this just seemed to be the logical choice right now. I can't believe how much of an active role Steve has already taken in this, and I know he will do more in the future.
As you have undoubtedly seen, you can see products, but won't be able to purchase yet.
Bear with me - it's my understanding that Rusty Pickle's website crashed a while back and I wasn't able to get all of the web graphics from them that I needed. I have most of them and am still working on getting the rest together....

Frustrations!
It was so much fun going through all the pretties last night! Only one thing is on backorder - but I do have bubbles! Can't wait to get the store open... which brings me to my problem. My bank assured me they would set me up with their credit card company for a merchant account... and then I found out what their fees were - forget it! I hvae a call in to a couple of other companies today, but it looks like it will hold us up from our Friday launch date. In the meantime, it looks like I'm going to be busy unpacking products because both MME and RP have shipped also!

We have Primas!
LOL, those of you who are Stampin' Up! demos - and I'm sure many more of you as well, can relate to this - I'm at work - as in my fulltime legal secretary job - and Steve just called me - "We have products!" "Huh?" "We have boxes, BIG boxes!" And I'm stuck here at work for another 6.5 hours! I can't wait to get home, see what came in, and get things turned over! Stay tuned, you may be able to see things sooner than you think!

Superstitious?
Just a little update. We have placed our first three orders for products. I'm having such a hard time - I want it all and I want it NOW - but that's not going to happen. I really need to step back and realize and understand that I am going to have to start small and grow from there. I'm beginning to accept that, but it's difficult, and those that know me will understand this...
As long as we have the products in, Steve's goal is to open the store on Friday the 13th - it's always been a "special day" for us.... LOL, yeah, right... tornado takes off part of our roof - Friday the 13th... but that's another story for a different place.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for watching - I can tell that at least some people are following our progress, and for that I am already truly grateful.
I hope everyone has a very Happy Easter!

Getting Closer
Well, it's been a few days and here's the update - Steve went to do all the legal stuff today. I have all my orders sitting ready to be faxed, emailed, etc., but can't do anything with them until the legal stuff has all been handled and I have proof. Well, *now* we have the proof and paperwork! Woohoo!! I will be putting in my orders tonight and tomorrow. I'm already working on the storefront but I'm not sure when we will actually "flip the switch" so to say so you can see what we will have to offer - as soon as we have product in hand we will be off and running!
We're still shooting for the 15th - watch for updates soon!

Coming Soon!
The conversation goes something like this:
"Honey, I think I have finally decided to open an online scrabooking store." "Okay, I think that's a great idea - what do we need to do?"
That was about the extent of it - and that was less than a week ago. Since then we have the domain name and website, are in the process of getting the business licenses, etc., and have already lined up our first vendor.... are you ready?
I am happy to report that in the very near future you will be able to purchase My Mind's Eye - including the Bohemia line, which is to *die for* - at Paperosity!
The last few days have been a whirlwind and somewhat of a blur, but I am giddy with excitement and can't wait to have everything in stock and up and running!!!
Check back soon for more updates!
